Dog Rehabilitation and Training Methods

Connect with your dog!

My training methods are a combination of the empathy and understanding I have with dogs and continuing training from excellent trainers like Martin Deeley, Chad Mackin, and Heather Beck.

My style is also influenced by and resonates with great trainers/authors like
Cesar Millan, William Koehler, Kevin Behan, and the Monks of New Skete.

I will frequently discuss training tips on my blog, although it is not just restricted to dog training!

With the right training big dog can walk calmly for a 9 year old!

Walking your dog in a very specific manner is the key to making your dog a good citizen and follower. This will get the dog tuned to the calmer, trusting dog it can be.  What I do is win the dogs' full trust, it's full faith in my leadership.  I make decisions for the dog it is not equipped to make.  Removing that burden of decision making makes the dog feel SAFE - sometimes for the first time in its life.

I then show the owner how to keep the dog in that state and how to continue the restoration process, and I'm always only a phone call or email away.

Redeeming Dogs uses many techniques for training and behavior modification, but only one method of training when electronic collars (e-collars) are the right training tool. I am a certified trainer for the E-Touch Method ™ pioneered by Martin Deeley, internationally known gundog trainer, canine author, and pet dog trainer.  Martin's method uses electronic collars in a subtle way to train a dog without pulling on a collar, harness, or head halter.  It is as far removed from the old "shock" collars as a laser is from a torch.  This training method in essence "taps" the dog to focus him on the command, or to distract him from continuing an activity he should not be pursuing.  The dog is not in fear, or in pain. The beauty of this method is that when the owner is trained in the use of the collar, and uses it with a dog trained in the E-Touch Method ™, expert control can be transferred from the trainer to the average dog owner.  That can't be said for any other training method we know of!
